How to Remove Festival Wristbands

15th March 2023

If you have sat in a virtual queue on a website for hours trying to get your festival tickets, and finally been successful, the chances are that the festival wristbands that accompany your ticket will be permanently welded to your wrist as a badge of honour and a lasting memento of the festival. But there will come a time when it has to come off. Especially if you have another festival to attend or you plan to partake in a fundraising event that requires you to wear a different wristband.

If you have been wearing a Leeds & Reading Festival wristband all winter, you are definitely hardcore! If you missed out and really want a festival wristband before August, you may be in luck! Red Nose Day is being held on the 17th March 2023 and one of their suggested fundraising ideas is to throw the BEST PARTY EVER. Why not recreate your time at the Leeds & Reading Festival, invite all your friends, issue everyone with custom wristbands, and have a fantastic time raising money for a great cause?

What Wristbands are Available?

An authentic woven fabric festival wristband will have the details of the festival that you attended, but for this event, you will want to customise the wristbands in a different way.

Think red backgrounds, brightly coloured text, and eye-catching fonts. You could even choose something a little bit different, such as silicone or snap band festival wristbands, or even reusable fabric wristbands.

Can Wristbands be Loosened?

Wristbands are designed to fit comfortably around your wrist and they need to be tight enough not to slide off accidentally. They should not, however, be fitted so tightly as to be uncomfortable. Here at Lancaster Printing, we have a wide range of wristbands that will fit comfortably to ensure you will have a great & comfortable time at your festival.

The stretchy silicone material that silicone wristbands are made from is generally a comfortable fit for most people but is not adjustable.

Snap bands can be removed as required and re-fitted. By gently pulling on the wristband, it is possible to loosen it slightly though this relief is usually temporary as they are designed to hold their shape, winding tightly to the wearer’s wrist.

Reusable fabric wristbands are set to a specific length and cannot be adjusted further. Adult wristbands measure 210mm long, whilst Junior versions are 190mm and Child wristbands come in at 170mm long. You will need to ensure when ordering that you select the combination of sizes that you are most likely to require.

Our range of woven fabric festival wristbands are available as fixed length or adjustable. Sizes range from 160mm to 350mm long and if you select bands with metal fasteners, they will be fixed to the final size. If you choose to have your wristbands fitted with an adjustable fastener, you will be able to loosen and tighten them once fitted to achieve the perfect fit.

How to Remove Wristbands

Silicone wristbands and festival wristbands are removed by narrowing your hand, touching your thumb to your little finger and pointing your three middle fingers. From this position, using your other hand, slide the wristband carefully down over your wrist and hand to remove it without damaging it. If your wristband is fitted too tightly for removal in this manner, you may have to cut it off with scissors carefully.

Snap bands are unrolled for removal and reusable fabric wristbands have a simple clasp mechanism for removal.

Are Lancaster Printings Wristbands Recyclable?

Whilst our wristbands cannot be put into standard household recycling, there are so many ways in which they can be repurposed when you no longer wish to wear them.

Silicon wristbands offer extra grip for opening jars and bottles with twist lids. Keep them in your cutlery drawer for a lasting reminder of the event, as well as to open jams with ease!

Snap bands make great bookmarks or are easily attached to curtain poles to brighten up a room.

Fabric wristbands are the ultimate versatile accessory. They can be worn time and time again, repurposed into keychains, sewn into clothing or textile projects, used in place of cable ties, or even framed alongside your event ticket or other mementoes.

When you remove your wristband, don’t let it go to waste. Let your imagination guide you and you will end up with a fabulous and long-lasting reminder of a fantastic experience.
